This study aims to develop an analytic and synthetic approach for erosion modalities generated by runoff and sediment transport in order to set a mapping and quantification of soil erosion in two sub-watersheds of Merguellil catchment, located in the central region of Tunisia. USLE, RUSLE and MUSLE Models are widely used to calculate annual average of soil loss per area unit resulting from sheet and rill erosion. This soil loss depends on several factors including: rainfall erosivity, soil erodibility, vegetation, topography and conservation practices. The analysis, combining data and modeling were carried out using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The layering of different factors has yielded a map showing the average of annual erosion. The results show that the model RUSLE is the most appropriate for the two watersheds, with some parameter changes on the combined topographic factor, since it gives acceptable results of soil loss.
