The hinterland of Paraiba, inserted in the context of the Brazilian semi-arid region, is characterized by long periods of droughts and dry spells, causing various social and economic damages, exacerbating existing inequalities in the region. The water scarcity in the regional landscape results from natural and climatic conditions, where rainfall events occur in a concentrated and irregular manner throughout the year, hindering the presence of water in the subsoil. In this context, several public policies have been created throughout history with the aim of providing greater water availability in the region. Among these, the Federal Government's Operacao Pipa (Pipe Operation) can be mentioned, which is the focus of this study. The objective of this work is to spatialize and analyze the actions of the Operacao Pipa in the hinterland of Paraiba. The methodology employed was spatial analysis, for which secondary data from the Northeast Military Command (CMNE) concerning the operation's activities were used. The data and analysis are related to May 2016, belonging to the rainy season in the region. According to the period analyzed, out of the 83 municipalities, 52 were being served by the operation, with 329 water trucks collecting water from five sources and supplying 2,538 service points that provided water to 123,136 inhabitants. Through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools, thematic maps were created, and through these, a spatial analysis of the operation in the region was conducted.
