This study examines the impact of electrostatic field on the performance of silicon PV panels. Results show a 13 % decrease in power output due to the electric field, but a 1.5 % increase when the field direction aligns at a specific angle. Monocrystalline panels are less affected than polycrystalline ones, making them more suitable for desert environments. Based on wind-blown sand electric field data, calculations show a 6-8 % decrease in power generation for crystalline panels, with potential increases of 0.7-1.5 % when the panel tilt is optimized. These findings emphasize the importance of natural electric fields in desert PV power stations.
