Studies on Amerindian shamanic art show that in the ethnographic ritual repertoire there are numerous traditions of symmetrical and transcorporal abstract art, in whose designs there are constituent elements of transformational ontologies associated with ritual spheres and therapeutic practices. These designs are characterized by the possibility of transiting between di ferent sensory modalities that Western thought separates. In this paper we address Diaguita archaeological evidence of visual art and sound technology, based on the hypothesis that these would have a continuity in the syncretic tradition of the current festivals of bailes chinos. It explores how some of their properties are also present in kinetic and acoustic aspects of these current ritual practices.
