Biodiversity conservation is one of the major contemporary challenges. In this context, studies on the dynamics of ecosystems and the composition of biota constitute important tools for the conservation of biota and ecosystems. Among the Caatinga landscapes, rocky outcrops are important environments for the interpretation of biodiversity and, consequently, for the conservation of Northeastern ecosystems. Due to the increasing need to know the floristic composition of rocky environments in the Brazilian semi-arid region, this study aimed to identify and analyze the richness and floristic diversity of rocky outcrops located in the municipality of Esperanca-Paraiba state. Field trips were made to the areas for data collection. Then the species were identified and indexes were applied for the detection of its richness. 30 species distributed in 29 genera and 15 families of angiosperms were recorded. The families with the highest number of species were: Fabaceae (five species), Euphorbiaceae (four), and Apocynaceae (three species). It was evidenced the presence of rare species and the reduced number of ruderal species confirmed the hypothesis that the rocky outcrops of the municipality of Esperanca the anthropic pressure exerted is low.
