Boron (B) deficiency severely hinders cauliflower productivity across semi-arid soils. The integration of organic manures with boron management offers a sustainable approach to address B deficiency and enhance cauliflower productivity. A comprehensive field over two consecutive seasons (2021, 2022) was conducted in split-plot experimental design with four levels each of farm yard manure (FYM) (0, 25, 50, 100 Mg ha-1) and boron (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 kg ha-1). The research findings indicated significant improvements in plant growth attributes, curd yield, and nutrient uptake at 100 Mg FYM ha-1. Among B treatments, optimum yield parameters (curd yield, curd diameter) were obtained with 1.0 kg B ha-1, whereas highest nutrient uptake in curd occurred at 2.0 kg B ha-1. The curd yield obtained with 1.0 kg B ha-1 was 15.5% higher over no B application and 50 Mg FYM ha-1 recorded higher yield by 37% over no FYM application, respectively. The total soluble solids recorded with 50 Mg FYM ha-1was 8.5% higher than no FYM application. Soil nutrient status, soil organic carbon (OC), available B and diethylene triamine penta acetic acid (DTPA)-extractable micronutrients also improved with FYM and boron application in soil. The study concluded that FYM @50 Mg ha-1 and B @1.0 kg ha-1 was the best treatment for obtaining higher yield, B uptake in cauliflower and improving available B status in soil. This comparative insight uniquely underscored the potential of moderate organic-inorganic nutrient combinations as a practical, cost-effective strategy to enhance cauliflower productivity and maintaining soil fertility.
