Tivan secures funding for Sandover

2025-06-06

Tivan has been awarded exploration grant funding by the Northern Territory Government for the Sandover fluorite project located 230km north-east of Alice Springs.

The project, which was acquired by Tivan in November 2024, has received $100,000 towards drilling and $50,000 for metallurgical testing.

The company’s successful applications under round 18 of the Northern Territory Government’s geographics and drilling collaborations (GDC) will support a maiden reverse circulation drilling program and early-stage metallurgical testwork.

Two development pathways are under consideration with direct shipping ore route focused on metspar and a conventional route aimed at producing acid-grade fluorspar.

Planning and approvals for the drilling campaign are underway, including the application for an environmental mining licence.

Engagement with Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders is being led by executive chairman Grant Wilson, alongside the Central Land Council.

“Sincere thanks to NT Government for recognising the importance of the Sandover fluorite project,” Wilson said. “Tivan is fully committed to central Australia and has very high expectations for this project.”

The Sandover project is considered highly prospective, following strong assay results from surface sampling undertaken in December 2024.

Tivan’s geology team will return to Sandover in September and October after completing drilling at the Speewah fluorite project. The company has also flagged the launch of a scoping study during the same period.

This latest funding follows a previous grant for the Sandover AI project under round 17 of the GDC program.
